Phew! Exams are over -> I am Back! :D

Hello All! :)

I guess I need to welcome myself back first! LOL! Seriously this time the exam season was too tiring! Just gave my last one today for the current semester.

But well well well! now that its over, I guess I can come back to other things, like my blog. I see I haven't posted in much time! Sorry for that readers, that I couldn't give a new post, but it was all because I was so busy.

But now, I can take a relaxing, chillaxing breath and say - PHEW!! it's over for now! And so, I have got some new things in my mind to share with you guys, and I will be back on here again soon to share it with you all.

I have got a couple of things like Reservation and Festivals, etc. on my mind to share about. I mean from my Desiccator point of view. Though sometimes I know these issues could cause a sort of upheaval, so I would try to be as safe as I can.

But hey still, pardon any repulsive parts. Though I know about festival thing there couldn't be any such thing because I have always respected all the religions, but for the reservation, well it can. The reason being, it had been close to me because that stupid act has caused a lot of trouble to me.

Anyways, I will talk about it in my other post when I will write it. Though right now, for today, I need to take a lot of rest. So I would visit back any visitors too tomorrow only.

So until then, you guys have fun, and I must take rest. Take care and speak up your minds! Because as I have described my blog, thoughts sometimes need to be desiccated as the moisture of this world tends to eat them away!

Oh! by the way, one thing I forgot to do was, Wish you all a Merry Christmas! I know I am late, but well, better late than never! ;) My Christmas was totally engulfed in studies and dumped under books, how was yours? I hope it was great! And then new Year is also on the door. Let's see what plans are there! :D And yes! I must write it now that I don't own those pics in this post, okay? I have searched them on google. So kindly no Copyright Infringement Please!!

But now I need rest, so will catch up here later! :)

Darkness is nothing but absence of light!

Hello my friends!

I know many people, and seen many of them depressed at many moments of their life. These days we can see so many people's lives almost destroyed due to shear depression in which they have caught themselves due to some or the other reason. Recent events in a friend's life urged me to share this here, on my desiccator. I know I am not a psychiatrist who could treat depression, but well, I am philosophical enough to light a candle of hope. You can say, I am just trying to give a little strength to the person who reads this. May not be that helpful, but don't you think, something is better than nothing?

I would like to give you all a real life example. I have a friend on some social networking website. I won't disclose any name, etc. Still would like to point out what I came to know of from that friend. Now this friend of mine, lets call 'em "X" and their another friend by "Y". Now "Y" too is a friend of "X"(but not mine) on that networking site. "Y" had no real friends, all "Y" had were some friends, online. Partner of this "Y" was killed in front of their eyes. The killer was given enough punishment for the crime, though it was not enough to add some life in "Y". "X" was one of the best friends "Y" had. Now some more sad happenings in the life of "Y" pursued "Y" to abandon their account on the website. Now "X" was quite worried. I was told about the situation of "Y". A few days later though "Y" was out of all the depression, the reason wasn't known.

Why I mentioned that example is not that it taught us to fight with adversities, it teaches us that somewhere in the world there is somebody who does think of your goodwill. So never think you are alone. Though I myself don't think much in this fashion(DON'T LAUGH!! :P ). I always think the things to be such that there's nobody who would help us, we have to fight alone. Though that's a different thing. Let's not intermix things. I was stating the above example to make all of you understand a simple fact that if happiness doesn't stays forever, nor does the sadness! Did you get my point? You guys must've heard of a popular quote that says, "The moments before the sunrise, are the darkest!" I don't say that wake up in the morning and test the thing literally, but in figurative or metaphoric way, yes, it's quite right.

And the one that I mentioned as the topic of my post is, "Darkness is nothing but the absence of light". Now let's analyse this line, literally first. If there is a room, where there is no light, we say that the room is dark. But when we bring in a candle, the darkness is gone. Even if the candle glows feeble, in the corner of the room. But well, the room can no longer be called "Dark". And as soon as we blow off the candle, the room is dark again! Now what does that mean? Howsoever dark it is, but a single ray of light kills this Darkness. Now what does this further implies? Yes! Darkness means absence of light, not killer of light. Darkness can never blow off the candle or eat it's light.

Now let's come to metaphoric meaning! Do I need to explain it? Isn't it quite clear by the literal meaning alone? Well, a single ray of happiness can kill the darkness of the sadness. Now from where does this ray of happiness enters our life? From friends? From loved ones? From enemies? From whom? Well, the answer is ourselves! This ray of happiness enters our life only when we believe in ourselves, and we can hope of good, or bright future. All it takes is strength. "When you are hardest hit, is the time when you must NOT quit."

Why do these adversities enter our life? Only because of the karma? Well there is another reason. I call it "Training". The world as we all know, is not that merciful as it may appear. But is rather a bit too harsh and cruel. These adversities and the problems teach us to fight with them. They make us tough. They make us know of our hidden talents and strengths. You may not be able to run at your fastest speed when you are running a race, but when a dog chases you, your speed increases multiple times!

The person "Y" in the above stated situation may have came out depression all because "Y" was able to light their candle of hope. Everyone has this strength to fight adversities. So instead of crying when they come in your way of life, feeling depressed, or similar things, challenge them. Ask them to try their level best, and teach them a lesson that they are scared of entering your life again. Simple, and difficult, both. It all depends on your realisation.

So I would say it again, don't you think that failure has eaten you. It has not destroyed your happiness. Your happiness needs to be sparked again. All you need is belief, that is self-belief. Believe in yourself, try to remain indifferent to the consequences. Give your best effort, even if you have almost lost, but never give up. When you give up, the candle of hope is not just blown off, it's actually crushed. So why destroy your happiness on your own? believe in yourself, believe in god, give your best, and always keep smiling, and all you'll see would be Happiness, Happiness, and Happiness all around, and thus success! And don't get shattered by failure, it has just came to teach you something good, so that your next success is far more better than any of the previous ones!

Hope my little effort helps you all get out any such situation, if you come across, or help your friends out! Thanks for reading, Good Day! ^_^

Care about what other people think and you'll be their prisoner for life

Just read a superb quote, and could relate it to my life in a lot too many ways. The quote goes as :

"Care about what other people think and you'll be their prisoner for life." - James Frey

Hello to all of you my friends! I hope the Sunday is going on, or has gone(in case its over for you already!) good for you! :) And what I wanted to discuss at my Desiccator today, was this quote that I just stated above.

Isn't it quite right? In everybody's life there is a moment which is influenced by the thinking of others. We might sometimes say away casually that, "Huh! I don't care what world thinks about me. I am what I am." But inside, at some point of time, our decisions do get affected. Why does that happen then? Aren't we lying to ourselves? Or are we just trying to let our false pride, or "EGO" to be specific, live longer?

The quote by James Frey, that I have stated above is quite true. When we think about what other's would think of our action, we are unable to be ourselves. All of us want to be someone who is different from others, so that we don't get lost in the crowd of this world. But if we are unable to do things our way, or say, or speak up what we like or want, just because the listener or the other person won't, or rather, "might won't", like it, then we are doing nothing but just killing that special person who we actually are.

I would say, it is kind of running away from reality, when our decisions are affected by others. I can state a simple example out here. Consider you want to buy a gift for your best friend. Now if you want to buy a gift, who should be deciding what you should buy? You? Your friend? or the shopkeeper?

If the shopkeeper decides, then he would like to sell you something that would fetch him the most profit. Your friend would ask for something he/she is longing for. But if you decide yourself, then? Then you would buy something, your pocket allows you. Something you think would be the best. And what my own experiences suggest is that when the choice is ours, the gift we give is the best, well atleast in 90% cases. Here though we do think what would other person like, or would think of our gift, but if the person is your friend for real, he/she would love anything you buy for them, then if is it just a flower.

The reason why I stated the above example is not to justify the quote as such, but to tell you that the quotes are a bit flexible. What I mean is, just don't go with the meanings of the words, but consider them to be metaphoric. Anyways, lets get back to the quote and just the literal meaning of it.

"Care about what others think" - When you think of what others think, (oh! I have said it already! Geesh, don't get bored! LOL!) you don't do what you think, but your decision and thought process gets molded. Consider it this way - Your thought is a material. The other person's thoughts, and words are the fire. When the fire gets over your material, it starts rising it's temperature. This, thus, makes the "material" go soft. And the stress it generates on you, tends to mold this material in the way the other person thinks. What happens then?! Your original thought is destroyed. It is changed. The new thought is not yours, it is something that has the body of your thought, but the soul! well, it is taken away, and is replaced by the one that was of the other person's thought.

What happened to you then? You as a unique person are lost. Your mind is enslaved, and your thoughts are influenced by others. Thus what are you now? A PRISONER! Sadly, but yes, you have ended up being a prisoner, all because what you want to say or do is not what you actually say or do, but what you actually say or do, is what other person wants or likes, or thinks is okay!

In practice, it is not possible to be thinking completely in a way that is uninfluenced by the other person, but the lesser it is, the more original you are, and the more "YOU", you are! So try not to pay attention to what world thinks of you. People are jealous of those who have something. Those who have nothing are laughed upon. So why care about such a world? Be yourself. And then, those who accept you as what you are, are your real friends...Rest all are just there because of some or the other selfish motive.

Thank you for reading, good day! :)

Scared of Ghosts?! And what of the person behind the mirror?! :O

Alright, I can say it this time too, I don't own this pic, found it from google.

Now, what I wanted to discuss at my desiccator today is that, are you really scared of ghosts? I mean, as a kid, I was really scared of ghosts, and dark, but no longer.

When I was a kid, I couldn't go in other room of my house during night, leave alone watching a horror movie, but now I can watch a horror movie, like Grudge, at 2 am, and go to sleep! - WITHOUT PROBLEM! :D As a kid, if I were scared of ghosts, it is normal, because we are not able to think that rationally and all, so its not that big an issue if I believed in the existence of ghosts (though I still believe, but no longer scared).

But when we are big enough to be indifferent to such things, why are we so casual about their existence? I know many of my friends, who still are very scared and can't watch a horror movie in the daylight, leave the night part! But tell me one thing, if ghosts are so scary, even when we have not seen them, what of the people? Yes, the human beings? Are we any less than those scary monsters which are there in the fairy tails, which could cause a small kid to wet its bed, just to teach 'em a lesson of goodwill?! o_O

Sadly, we aren't any better! :/ There is less than a handful of people who could call them "human beings", a class that regards to those animals who have made themselves worthy to be called better than other animals!

When I look at the newspaper these days, I feel so bad about about my city! Every other page has atleast one news that tells about somebody's murder, or kidnap, or rape! Is this we are really up to?! Our great politicians preach of a country where people have not yet forgotten their moral values, where people are still humans, just tell me one thing, are we really living in such a world they are telling us that we are a part of? Seems like they have considered us to be to too gullible to be able to observe and understand what's going on out here!

The spirit of festivals is lost. They are just holiday, nothing else than that! They are celebrated as fun-day, but not with the respect they must be! We have so many religions across the world. Every religion teaches the same lesson in one way or other, but "WHO CARES?!". In a false pride, we tend to give our religion supremacy over the others, as if the other religions are teaching things that are too different or too wrong! HUH!!

I was asking you all, that are you scared of ghosts? Some would say yes, some would say no. But I again ask, what of the person that is there on the other side of the mirror? What of the people around the world who are acting too foolish that the whole humanity would feel ashamed that they are also humans, alas!

Can we think of a world with all the good things if we continue to waste ourselves like this? I am not trying to agitate anyone, but tell me, are we right? Okay, I am not talking about everyone, some of us are doing good things, but of we talk in a normal manner, are the people around the world really acting "humanly"? Now tell me, who is more scary? A ghost who is never seen outside the stories? or a human being, who is slowly sucking the blood of the whole society, killing it slowly, for its own greed and lust for money and power?

And the Festival of lights starts its one year countdown again!

Alright, I don't own these pics on this post, okay? I have googled them.
So, Diwali, the festival of lights, one of the major Hindu festivals, thus has a very important place in my life. The overall celebrations, prayers, and all, last for five days, in which, the major day is the third day, which is Diwali. Diwali, or you may say, Deepawali, is celebrated on the 15th day of the month of "Katika" called, "Kartik Maas". For those people following Jainism, Diwali is the day when "Lord Mahavir" attained Moksha, or Nirvana, in 527 BC. For Hindus, it is the day when Lord Ram, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, came back to his home, and kingdom, "Ayodhya" after living for 14 years in forest.

Now should I go into some details about the festival?! I think, yes, as it would make my readers familiar with what they are reading about on my thought desiccator, right?! ;)

Lord Ram is considered to be the seventh avatar(incarnation) of Vishnu in Hinduism, and a king of Ayodhya in ancient Indian Puranas. Based on Puranic genealogy, Rama is believed by Hindus to have lived around 5000 B.C.E. in the second Yuga called Treta Yuga(2 millennia before Krishna who was born towards the end of Dwapara Yuga). Rama is traditionally considered to have appeared in the last quarter of Treta Yuga. Born as the eldest son of Kausalya and Dasharatha, king of Ayodhya, Rama is referred to within Hinduism as Maryada Purushottama, literally the Perfect Man or Lord of Self-Control or Lord of Virtue. Rama is the husband of Sita, whom Hindus consider to be an Avatar of Lakshmi and the embodiment of perfect womanhood.

Rama's life and journey is one of perfect adherence to dharma despite harsh tests of life and time. He is pictured as the ideal man and the perfect human. For the sake of his father's honour, Rama abandons his claim to Kosala's throne to serve an exile of fourteen years in the forest. His wife Sita and brother Lakshmana, unable to live without Rama, decide to join him, and all three spend the fourteen years in exile together. While in exile, Sita is kidnapped by Ravana, the Rakshasa (evil Lord) monarch of Lanka. After a long and arduous search that tests his personal strength and virtue, Rama fights a colossal war against Ravana's armies. In a war of powerful and magical beings, greatly destructive weaponry and battles, Rama slays Ravana in battle and liberates his wife. Having completed his exile, Rama returns to be crowned king in Ayodhya (the capital of his kingdom) and eventually becomes emperor, rules with happiness, peace, prosperity and justice — a period known as Rama Rajya. Now this day when he returned from his exile is celebrated as Diwali.

The name "Diwali" is a contraction of "Deepavali" (A Sanskrit word), which translates into "row of lamps". Diwali involves the lighting of small clay lamps (diyas) filled with oil to signify the triumph of good over evil. These lamps are kept on during the night and one's house is cleaned, both done in order to make the goddess Lakshmi(Goddess of wealth and prosperity in Hinduism) feel welcome. Firecrackers are burst in order to drive away evil spirits. During Diwali, all the celebrants wear new clothes and share sweets and snacks with family members and friends.

The festival starts with Dhanteras on which most Indian business communities begin their financial year. The second day of the festival, Naraka Chaturdasi, marks the vanquishing of the demon Naraka by Lord Krishna and his wife Satyabhama. Amavasya, the third day of Diwali, marks the worship of Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth in her most benevolent mood, fulfilling the wishes of her devotees. Amavasya also tells the story of Lord Vishnu, who in his dwarf incarnation vanquished the Bali, and banished him to Patala. It is on the fourth day of Diwali, Kartika Shudda Padyami, that Bali went to patala and took the reins of his new kingdom in there. The fourth day is more popularly celebrated as Kartika Shudda Padyami in Southern India, and as "Annakutt" in Northern India. In northern India "Annakutt" marks the day when Lord Krishna saved the people from the wrath of Lord Indra(The God of Rain). The fifth day is referred to as Yama Dvitiya (also called Bhai Dooj), and on this day sisters invite their brothers to their homes. It is considered very auspicious and rather mandatory for a brother to eat something at his sister's house that day, which is forbidden in many traditional Hindu families.

Also, you people might be interested in knowing the fact that, Diwali is an official holiday in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Mauritius, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Malaysia, Singapore, and Fiji.

Now this was all about Diwali, my favorite festival, that as I said, has a very special place in my heart as I am a Hindu. So why here on desiccator? Well! You all can get certain idea after reading all those just too prefect things, right?! o_O Ram-Rajya, a thing for which a common man tries different-different politicians and political parties to let run the government. But alas! seeing the current scenario, this all seems to be something totally non-existent! :/ A man like Lord Rama! Can he exist in the today's world? A man with perfect self-control, and who is so calm always! One can only wish to be like him, but frankly speaking, the world is too bad that it all seems to be like a childish longing, that is too difficult to be fulfilled. Diwali is celebrated to show that good can defeat evil in any case. Ravana, the one who was so intelligent, shows that power corrupts everyone, and this corruption makes the most intelligent person to behave like a fool! Isn't t similar to what we are seeing these days happening in our countries?!

Diwali is celebrated by most of the people just as a holiday, or fun-day, but how many of us celebrate it with the real spirit of Diwali?! Well, quite too handful people do that. I wish people understand the message this beautiful festival is trying to give us. Though I don't even know, how many of you actually read this, or thought about it on an intellectual level. Sometimes I feel like I have spoken here what I thought, but still there are hardly any people who are listening! Because there is always a difference between Hearing and Listening!

Strike Drugs before they Strangle You!

Hello everybody! I was looking through my Cupboard today, I found some articles I have written during my school life. One of them was "Strike Drugs before the Strangle You!" . Though not written so well, but still worth sharing, I guess! So here it goes:

***START OF THE ARTICLE***

In todays world, everywhere one can find addicts. Some are sport addicts, some are party-addicts, some are addicts to movies, etc. and etc. But the most devastating addiction is of Drugs. Addiction start out of curiosity. Once you are curious about something you tend to try it out. Once you start liking it, you may become addicted to it. many addicts are friends generated, i.e., they become addicts because they feel inferior in front of their friends who are already addicts. Some come out of boredom. While others come out of stress, social alienation, unhappiness, etc. Drug addiction has not just one reason but many.Drug Addiction leads to loss of appetite, eye disorders, physical and mental disorders, and in worst cases lead to death. Drug Addicts generally have puffy eyes and are short tempered. Their mood changes suddenly and they start showing tantrums. To get rid of stress and problems (only psychologically!), the take drugs. However they make their own lives a hell and create large holes in their own pockets. Those who are unable gather enough money to buy drugs, find other like stealing, theft, robbery. Some may become decoits even. They start becoming burden, both socially and economically, on a society, or on the country as a whole!.

We must make our own relatives, friends, neighbors aware about the not so good effects of drugs on one's life. I think, the motto of one's life must be - "Strike Drugs Before They Strangle You!"

"If you take drugs periodically
they'll harm you mentally
they make you weak physically, and economically
they devastate your image, socially
So why not leave drugs
before they strangle you?
After all, this your life
no one else can live it,
other than you!"

***END OF THE ARTICLE***
Hey all! I hope you liked it! :D I wrote it when I was young. Though now I am better at writing articles than before. So, if in case I will come across an article by me that would be worth sharing on this desiccator of mine (hahaha!!), I would love to share it with you all! :)

By the way, don't you guys agree with what I have written in this article?. Drugs are actually very harmful. Scientifically seeing, every medicine is a drug, but in general language, we use "Drug" as a word to refer to those harmful, intoxicating, "wrong sort of" chemicals, that generally cause short-lived Euphoria, a main reason leading to the addiction. One feels high after taking drugs, and thus starts thinking that its good for him/her, but if we see in real sense, it's not doing anything else than harming him/her!

Getting addicted is too easy because the present generation seems to be thinking of taking drugs to be cool. I remember a school friend of mine, who got into drugs as soon as he got into college. But later he faced too much of troubles. His college-mates used to say that he couldn't stand still anywhere. He also gave himself to depression. But, he took psychologist's help and became fine. I hope nobody else gets into these drug thing.

Where do these drugs come from? Have heard a lot about this drug mafia thing that they smuggle drugs across the borders, of course - ILLEGAL. A small amount of drug can be very dangerous depending upon it's purity. One of my friend told me, more refine a drug is, more costlier it is, more addictive it is, and hence more deadly it is!

I know without medicines, life can be a bit difficult, but of course, there is no problem in living a life without these dangerous ones who do nothing more than drastic amount of damage to our body!

There is too much to speak about drugs. They are of so many kinds, and all. But I guess, its better to rest my case over here.

Strike Drugs before they strangle you, and make your life, and this world - better! :)

Good Day! Stay Safe! Thanks for reading! ^_^

Bananas! - Wow! Facts are cool! :D

A professor at CCNY for a physiological psych class told his class about bananas. He said the expression "going bananas" is from the effects of bananas on the brain. Read on...

Never, put banana in the refrigerator!!!
This is interesting.
After reading this, you'll never look at a banana in the same way again.

Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber.

A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout.

No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.

But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit.
It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression:

According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS:

Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia:

High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure:

This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power:

200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation:

High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers:

One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn:

Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness:

Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites:

Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves:

Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight and at work?

Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers:

The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control:

Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD):

Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking &Tobacco Use:

Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress:

Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes:

According to research in The New England Journal of Medicine, eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts:

Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills.

When you compare it to an apple,

it has four times the protein,

twice the carbohydrate,

three times the phosphorus,

five times the vitamin A and iron,

and twice the other vitamins and minerals.

It is also rich in potassium

and is one of the best value foods around

So maybe its time to change that well-known

phrase so that we say,

"A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"

When Lemon is sweeter than Sugar!

Ever considered the statement that I gave as the title to this post of mine? - Can Lemons be sweeter than Sugar? Well with a big laughter, the reader would say, "Man! Are you gone nuts?! Sugar tastes sweet and lemons taste sour! What sort of question is this? How can lemons be sweeter than sugar itself?!" And then I would say, just like I always say, "Its just the matter how you perceive things!"

You didn't get my point?! Wait, give me a chance to explain! :D

What if we make lemonade from lemons? Would it then be sweet? And you'd say, "Yes! But you added sugar to it!" But still, it would be sweeter than sugar, because it would have more qualities attached to it, like its refreshing behaviour! The sweetness here is not the one you see as the "Sweet taste". Now sweetness gets the meaning as - "Better".

Now that makes lemon to be sweeter than sugar. When I was a kid, I used to watch a cartoon show about the life of Christopher Columbus. In that there was one scene wherein, once Columbus discovered America, in the royal party, a guest said, "You did nothing unique! When Earth is round, then what new have you done!?!" Well, just recall that nobody used to support his notion of round Earth! People were too blindly believing in Earth to be flat. Then Columbus took a boiled egg, and asked the man to make it stand upright on the table. The man tried but failed and in turn declared that it was impossible. Then Columbus, applied some pressure on the egg, breaking it a li'l, but it stood upright on the table then! The man was startled and his ego so badly hurt. He got angry and said,"Huh! You broke it! By breaking it, anybody could have done it!" It was then when Columbus replied, "Things seem to be simple when you have the answer, else they seem to be impossible. And when someone gives the answer, people are not ready to accept it and give different reasons to prove it wrong, somehow!" (Now don't ask where did that story came from in the middle, I told it as I just changed the lemon's figure and that could have raised such an issue!)

We know that sweetness attracts everyone, and being sour/bitter turns people off. But what if the sweetness is just a false flattery that camouflages in itself some selfish, and destructive motives? Well such sweetness is of no use! And what if the bitterness/sourness got in itself tonnes of things for your betterment? Just like one's parents. Our parents are sometimes angry on us, but how many of us understand that their this bitterness is for our betterment? And when we grow up, we realize all of it. Now doesn't such bitterness becomes sweet?!

So you see, its not the question of the name/appearance. Its the question of what the thing actually is. Our abilities do make us what we are, but sometimes more than them, its our choices which make us who we are! Perceptions can make world too different than it seems to us. Perception may change everything. Always remember, if a Rose is a beautiful flower, it has got thorns all over its stem!

Good Day!! ^_^

Just an analogy!

I don't know how many of you know, but mosquitoes are a big problem in India, especially during these few days around the time of Diwali. In the night you would see thousands of them on almost every light, even in the cleanest of the areas. In the morning though, they would be on all ground, making a bedlam of dead mosquitoes(YUKKK!!).

But what's so special about light that they are attracted to it? They keep on striking against the lights, or would burn themselves in the flame of any candle, or lamp, etc. Actually there are many reasons why mosquitoes get attracted to these things, like:
  • Carbon Dioxide
A burning candle or other fire is another source of carbon dioxide, which helps mosquitoes to find their prey, like humans/animals who release CO2 while breathing. However, CO2 alone is not enough to attract mosquitoes.
  • Lactic Acid
Everyone of us releases lactic acid(which attracts some mosquitoes) when exercising or consuming particular foods.
  • Octenol
When people and animals breathe, they exhale mixture of carbon dioxide and octenol, which is actually a type ofalcohol. Octenol is sometimes described as 'cow’s breath in a can', and is a remarkable lure for mosquitoes. Mosquitoes and other biting insects have extremely-sensitive receptors that can detect this chemical from almost 100 feet away.
  • Body heat
Circulating blood in animals and humans radiates body heat. As mosquitoes have sophisticated heat sensors, they follow body heat and exhaled gases and fly to their target. The exact temperature depends on the type of mosquito.
  • Color
Mosquitoes are attracted to dark colors, so wearing dark is not the best thing if you want to avoid being bitten. Dark foliage is another attractant.

Well anyways, enough of the SCHOOL-ISH part, LOL! lets come back to why was I discussing it here on the Desiccator of my thoughts. The thing that made me put it all here was I saw those mosquitoes injuring themselves foolishly, by hitting against the tube-lights, and all, and it made me recall what our world is today like!

We, the humans, what do we do? We keep on killing ourselves slowly, or falling for the baits that the world offers us, and ultimately keep on being entrapped in the world and then, aren't we acting analogous to these animals(here insects) only?!

We would do anything our heart would say, then what is the difference between us and the animals? Even they do what they feel like, without thinking its good or not! Else we keep on striking ourselves against those "Fancy Lights" of the world, and ultimately be eaten up by some lizard, or get trapped in some spiders web.

What is the ultimate requirement of ours, its happiness, but alas! the greed tinted eyes can never see anything better than beautiful green pastures! And what's the use of so much money? We might get a big house, and then, if the number of dwellers is just 3 or 4, then what's the use of it? We dream of a big car, and what of the fuel to run it? We would just brainlessly fall for every other thing the world shows to us as awesome, and in the end, where is the satisfaction? As our limits increase, our desires increase proportionately, and the added greed, makes them to increase rather exponentially! I ain't preaching anything against pleasurable life, all I am asking is, "Is there any end to these desires of ours? Where is any sort of control on these?" And then we say we are better than animals. When even after having such an advanced mind, we cannot understand such small things, then aren't we rather worse than 'em?

Just think for a second...

First Day at College

FOREWORD

------------------

Before you read any further, you must have seen that this is a long long note...So beware!

Very well then, if you have decided, go on!

First Day At College - Monday, 13th September, 2010 (Heavy Rainfall!)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So I reached college just 2 minutes late...But saw all the freshers downstairs...So I also decided to remain down at that time...After some 1 hour I came to know that its only my class that was going on (Damn it! - missed the first lecture?) Oh no, I reached 15 minutes before the class was set to over...so I got my attendance marked atleast :D

I tried to talk to 1-2 people, but wow! what the hell, ATTITUDE! huh! SO no friendly people found out there...anyways...The second period - Work Shop...Now who appointed THAT professor?? IRRITATING ...No senior tried to perform ragging, but it was seeming that, THAT Professor was really interested in that duh! Anyways, anyhow got that lecture over with....

Moving ahead, the best class was Computer Class and Physics class, :D I was a STAR! :D

SO somehow the boooooooring day got over...and I got out of the college...Now that's where the day turns even more "amazing"!...Oh I forgot to tell, 20 minutes prior to the time by which college gets over, it started to rain, no, rather, A STORM started...

I walked out of the college...To my surprise, could not find a single thing that could take me home..Now was that I went blind momentarily that I could not find a single bus or something, or it was that momentarily every thing vanquished off the road??..."Very well", I said, to myself...Then I started to walk..Oh you know my home is 8 kilometres(approx. 5 miles) from my college...I thought that I will find a bus or something...Oh you remember, it was raining heavily, thank god I had an umbrella!...So walking and walking and walking...after some 2 km, I thought "NO BUS? huh"..."move on, let the bus go to hell!"....walked and walked and walked...humming songs and making "deadly mixes" like - "I walk a lonely road the only one that I have ever known...I walk this empty, empty, empty, em, em, em, m, m, m, m, yo! Bebot Bebot yeah Bebot Bebot Yeah!" lol, anyways, I could not let myself be bored on my way home!...After some 6 km, I was required to take a right turn "YIPPEE! I FORGOT!!!"...I walked around 1 kilometre in the wrong direction, and then realized that this road does not leads home...and recalled "OH MY GOD! I FORGOT TO TAKE THAT RIGHT TURN....NOOOOO!!!!!!"...SO walked and walked again...Finally I saw a bus, after so long, but I saw the metro station in front of me, and bus was also speeding away, so it wasn't a good idea to catch the bus running...SO i walked to the metro...So till now I walked 8 kilometres (2 km extra coz. i forgot to take right turn! DAMN IT!) then after seeing the station, I thought, now its just 2 more kilometres to home...so lets resume our walking instead of catching the train now...SO i came home walking...10 KILOMETRES (6.22 miles approx.)...It took me 1 Hour 20 minutes to reach home...was feeling too hungry when i left college, and moreover the heavy rainfall made the 10 km as if 100km!!!

LANDMARKS/AMAZING THINGS IN MY WAY HOME!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Puddle...Now don't look at me so strangely, u don't know why is it a landmark - a puddle equivalent to a small river, nearly 50 meters wide and would be 1 meter deep

2. A Dog - The smallest dog I ever saw in my life...would be some 12-13 cm tall (from ground level, where his toes touch)

3. Stinking Open Sewers - GRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

4. 2 small kids rushing with heavy loads...And I stopped and helped them for a little while...

BACK HOME

------------------

Mom - "Why are you so late?"

Me - "Well, I didn't find any bus so I came home walking!"

Mom - "WHAT!!!???"

And the scolding resumed....

Then I asked my bro - "What happened...why mom so angry?"

My bro - "How far is your college from home?"

Me - "well, some 8 kilometres"

"OMG!", I said to myself, "SO that's why mom's angry"

I said to mom (Thinking that this could shed some anger off her) - "Mom, I walked 10 km home in 1 hour 20 minutes!"

Mom - "But your college is 8 km, right?"

I - "Actually I took a wrong turn and walked 1 km in wrong direction, so it added 2 km to my journey, 1km in wrong direction, and then 1km back to the point where I was required to turn..."

Mom looking at me even more angrily!, saying to me - "You are telling as if it is an achievement!...Was the whole college walking to their home?"

I - "Hey mom! but I walked 10 km in 1 hr. 20 mins....Not that a bad score and timing that you are so angry"

After that the way mom looked at me, I walked(rather hurried!) away quietly to my room, saying to myself - "Sometimes I should not try to uplift people's mood...Thank God mom didn't slap me!"

And so the Quite Amazing day and quite amazing things got over...Phew!....Thanks for reading :)

and STOP LAUGHING! >_<

Not all could be false! o_O

Recently my friends on facebook have been sharing this pic, with the story that follows beneath it. They say that the event is true. I was doubting all this until I found the authenticity of everything! :/ I read numerous articles on internet, including one on wikipedia, which was enough to prove that this all actually happened! I want all of you to read it once, even if you don't have a strong heart, only because, this is so inhumane an act, that could make us realise how cruel this so called WORLD is...

Junko Furuta. The girl who went through 44 days of torture.
DAY 1: November 22, 1988: Kidnapped
Kept captive in house, and posed as one of boy’s girlfriend
Raped (over 400 times in total)
Forced to call her parents and tell them she had run away
Starved and malnutritioned
Fed cockroaches to eat and urine to drink
Forced to masturbate
Forced to strip in front of others
Burned with cigarette lighters
Foreign objects inserted into her vagina/anus

DAY 11: December 1, 1988: Severely beat up countless times
Face held against concrete ground and jumped on
Hands tied to ceiling and body used as a punching bag
Nose filled with so much blood that she can only breath through her mouth
Dumbbells dropped onto her stomach
Vomited when tried to drink water (her stomach couldn’t accept it)
Tried to escape and punished by cigarette burning on arms
Flammable liquid poured on her feet and legs, then lit on fire
Bottle inserted into her anus, causing injury

DAY 20: December10, 1989: Unable to walk properly due to severe leg burns
Beat with bamboo sticks
Fireworks inserted into anus and lit
Hands smashed by weights and fingernails cracked
Beaten with golf club
Cigarettes inserted into vagina
Beaten with iron rods repeatedly
Winter; forced outside to sleep in balcony
Skewers of grilled chicken inserted into her vagina and anus, causing bleeding

DAY 30: Hot wax dripped onto face
Eyelids burned by cigarette lighter
Stabbed with sewing needles in chest area
Left nipple cut and destroyed with pliers
Hot light bulb inserted into her vagina
Heavy bleeding from vagina due to scissors insertion
Unable to urinate properly
Injuries were so severe that it took over an hour for her to crawl downstairs and use the bathroom
Eardrums severely damaged
Extreme reduced brain size

DAY 40: Begged her torturers to “kill her and get it over with”

January 1, 1989: Junko greets the New Years Day alone
Body mutilated
Unable to move from the ground

DAY 44: January 4, 1989: The four boys beat her mutilated body with an iron barbell, using a loss at the game of Mah-jongg as a pretext. She is profusely bleeding from her mouth and nose. They put a candle’s flame to her face and eyes.

Then, lighter fluid was poured onto her legs, arms, face and stomach, and then lit on fire. This final torture lasted for a time of two hours.

Junko Furuta died later that day, in pain and alone. Nothing could compare 44 days of suffering she had to go through.

When her mother heard the news and details of what had happened to her daughter, she fainted. She had to undergo a psychiatric outpatient treatment . Imagine her endless pain.

Her killers are now free men. Justice was never served, not even after 20 years.
They deserve a punishment much greater than they had put upon Furuta, for putting an innocent girl through the most unbearable suffering.

This story from 1989 is true. Please spread her story around. Everyone should know about the existence of Junko Furuta’s unimaginable and incomprehensible suffering, and this is why this group has been made.

Invite your friends. Never let her story be forgotten. If this story changes the life of at least one person then it has been worth it.

Rest In Eternal Peace,
Junko Furuta
1989-Eternity

Alas! One cannot doubt everything in this article! Most of it could actually have happened, maybe everything, but yes, Human Beings are actually becoming animals, downgrading themselves, from the stature of "Social Animals" to just "Animals" :(

You all may see this wikipedia article too about it. And I would admit, for once I felt extremely sad for the woman. :(

Why Desiccator?

So finally, the big question to be answered, after all, why did I choose - "Desiccator" as the name of my blog? What is the significance? Why was it so appealing that I made this blog with that name? Take it easy, the answers are comin' up! :)

Desiccator, as you people might be knowing, is a laboratory equipment, used mostly in the Chemistry labs, to prevent the deliquescence of the material because of the moisture present in the air. Deliquiescence means dissolving of the substance by absorbing the moisture from air.
The question that now arises is that, Why have I used it as my blog's name?!

Well, you can consider ourselves as table or any platform, on which the thoughts are kept, similar to a substance that is deliquescent. Now the thoughts of other people who are more powerful than us, their influence, the fear associated with slander/disgrace that may be caused if we put forward our viewpoint, etc. can be considered as the moisture.

Now this moisture is responsible for more than 99.999999% of the times for the deliquescence of our thoughts, which makes our thought to die away, and hence creating a negative impact on our mindset, which may sometimes, render us to a situation of lack of self-confidence!

Preventing this is not that difficult as it may seem. Its okay if you are scared of something, everybody is scared of something or other, but you will be a winner only if you can fight your fear, and even if you are scared, you try to move on. So, what can be done now? We can talk to someone who we think would not make fun of us, and that way we would be able to say what's there in our mind, or else, if such a person is non-existent, then of course, we all have that Silica polished on one side, in front of which we stand for hours grooming ourselves, ahem! ahem! , I am talking about the mirror! LOL! Else here is another method, blogging. now that's what I am doing.

I may not be updating this blog daily, but I will be updating whenever I think that there is something in my mind that is worth sharing with the world. I don't even know if there would be a single person reading all this, but atleast, my thought didn't die, atleast I was able to speak it out, and that would give me the confidence to keep goin' on, and think better! :)

So in case you are reading all this, and want to speak up, feel free to share your thought here. Don't feel shy or embarrassed, I will try and share your thought with all my readers(if any), by making it a post just like this one. And I would be looking forward to speak here soon.

Until then, always remember, speak out, don't let your thoughts die out, maybe they are not heard by anyone, but maybe they have the potential to change the world! ^_^

A Hello it is!

Hey all!
I don't know why, but whenever I start a blog, I always post a welcome message for my readers, even when I am not sure of how many of them actually read it. Uh! Strange, isn't it?! o_O Well seems to be. But still I am doing it, maybe thinking that in case somebody actually read my blog! haha! er, I don't know! LOL!
Anyways, here I, Bhanu Gupta, aka Dя Toxifier, welcomes you to my blog, which actually is a blog this time! LOL!
I gave it the name Desiccator. Why? Well a small reason I have given out already in the description of the blog, though I would like to give a detailed one. Will be back with one real soon.
Until then, always remember, speak out, don't let your thoughts die out, maybe they are not heard by anyone, but maybe they have the potential to change the world! ^_^
